“I feel so alone on the Friday nights
Can you make it feel like home if I tell you you’re mine?”
~ Lana Del Ray.
March, April & May 1991.
Roger brings Michael to “Joe’s Kitchen” for lunch. There, Michael is shocked to see Tran’s twin sister, Tam, working as a waitress. After she confronts him for rudely staring at her, he explains how he knows her sister from Sardinia. Later, Roger asks Michael about whether or not he’s going to finally break up with Sue.
While Samina is shooting the movie “Sundar” in London, she learns about her father’s sudden passing and immediately flies home to Madras. Ronit picks her up at the airport and remains by her side throughout the ordeal. Before returning to London, Rajani confesses to Samina about their financial difficulties arising from her father’s passing.
Michael breaks up with Sue and stops by Gary’s apartment to share the news. Drunk and angry for a perceived betrayal of their friendship, a knife-wielding Gary clumsily attacks Michael.
Meanwhile, Samina finishes shooting and returns to her apartment in Bombay. Back home, she confesses to Ronit that she’s seriously considering leaving the industry. Ronit talks her out of it and suggests that she shouldn’t be alone given her grief and suggests that she’s welcome to move in with him and his family. As Samina packs up her apartment, both Adil and Moni, Ronit’s wife, argue with him about his reckless decision and beg him to reconsider.
